Assistant Accountant Apprentice
Beth has been on a mission to learn while at Eurocell. Working as an Apprentice Assistant Accountant within our busy Finance Team, she is learning practical skills on the job and being supported with her studies.
What attracted you to the apprenticeship programme with Eurocell?
I knew that I wanted to be an accountant as soon as I left university. My apprenticeship offered me the course that I wanted to do and a chance to progress with my qualifications. Eurocell is a big brand, so I had faith that they would support my studies while helping me learn what I needed to progress into my dream career.
What skills do you hope to develop with Eurocell that will help in your career?
I’m looking to develop my accounting skills so that I can become a competent accountant. I hope this opportunity can also give me the relevant communication and leadership skills to make my long term career plan possible.
What are your long term career goals?
I want to move onto the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualifications and become an accountant for the operations finance team. I hope to have a direct report so I can improve my leadership skills, and get more experience in different accounting areas so that I can help the team going forwards.
How is the team at Eurocell helping you in your role?
Everyone at Eurocell is extremely helpful. As an apprentice, I have asked loads of questions and everyone has always done their best to help me. As a result, I have formed a better understanding of Eurocell’s processes and gone into tasks with all the relevant information.
What is your favourite thing about the apprenticeship programme at Eurocell?
I have enjoyed the variety of work which has given me a greater understanding of the business and supported my qualifications.
Would you recommend taking up an apprenticeship role with Eurocell and why?
I would recommend Eurocell’s apprenticeships to anyone. The company has been very supportive with my workload, and understanding and flexible when it comes to my college requirements. I have had the best training which has enabled me to complete my college course to a great standard. A lot of my work has related to my study, so I have been able to apply the theory to real life.
What piece of advice would you give to someone thinking of embarking on an apprenticeship programme?
An apprenticeship is a long term commitment, and it’s definitely worth the time and effort because it will get you into your chosen career. Have the drive to learn and passion for your job, so that you get the most out of the experience.
