Toni
Branch Manager
Toni joined as a Trade Counter Assistant and now runs the Eurocell Castleford branch in one of our state-of-the-art locations.
What branch did you start in? And where are you now?
I started my career journey at Eurocell as a trade counter assistant in the Rochdale branch. I then moved to the Castleford branch in 2021 when I was promoted to Branch Manager. I went from working on the till, to loading vans, and I am now responsible for the management of an entire branch.
How did you get into construction/get into working in branches?
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I applied for the Trade Counter Assistant role. Since then, my career has flourished.
How much has Eurocell changed in the years you’ve worked here?
Since joining Eurocell, a lot has changed. We’re opening more branches like the state-of-the-art Castleford one, and it’s great to see modernisation and upgraded systems. I’ve also seen an improved set-up for us as retailers and for our customers.
If you could tell your younger self (as a Eurocell employee) anything what would it be?
Find a job at Eurocell sooner, because it’s a great place to work.
The company works with you rather than against you, which means there is great scope for progression. As a woman in construction, I’m really proud of my journey. Eurocell has enabled me to grow on the job and it’s a place where you can thrive.
Why are you proud to work for Eurocell?
I’m proud of my progression at Eurocell, and the fact they offer it to colleagues and women like me. I started as an assistant and as a manager, my colleagues take me seriously and respect me. I’m proud of the regional team and Paul Dixon, who helps us and keeps us well-connected with local branches.
Why are events like Women in Construction Week important?
It’s exciting to see more women enter the industry, especially within the branches as we’ve noticed more female customers. I also see a lot more women on building sites. It’s important because it shows that we can do the jobs too – without any labels.
